Queens of Rome

We were extremely proud to have two students selected by the TCM Academy Moruzzo coaches to participate at the final event of the “Racchette di Classe“ project in Rome.   Sofia and Teresa in Grade 3 represented UIS at this event and had an absolutely wonderful time. The event was staged at the Foro Italico and we were even able to visit the Olympic Stadium.   Unfortunately, on the Monday afternoon there was a heavy downpour and their events were postponed but it gave us a chance to visit the BNL Internazionali d’Italia Tennis tournament that was happening at the same time.   The students were then transferred to Fiano Romano to have dinner and were allocated to bungalows within this tourist village, and the girls were so excited to have their own room.   On Tuesday, when we returned to Rome, the weather was much kinder, and we were able to complete the tennis, badminton and table tennis activities at the Next Gen Arena, where 700 children were divided into 2 groups.   To cap off the event the Italian Minister of Education, Valeria Fedeli addressed the students and awarded them with a medal for their participation.   It was lovely to see how our students interacted with other students and how impressed other teacher’s and adults were with our student’s vocabulary, manners and ease in speaking English. Sofia and Teresa were wonderful ambassadors for UIS!
