Grade 2 Advocate for the Ocean on Earth Day 2018

The Grade 2 class have recently enjoyed stories set in the ocean and coral reefs. After reading Tiddler, the Story-Telliing Fish by Julia Donaldson, they each studied a marine animal in great detail and produced a beautiful coral reef display full of interesting facts and intricate drawings.  When the students heard that the coral reef is under threat, and that human beings have produced a ‘Giant Garbage Patch’ three times the size of Italy in the Pacific Ocean, they immediately sprung into action, creating posters to raise awareness of Plastic Pollution, and to suggest ways that schools, families and individuals can take action immediately to reverse this trend!
