French Poetry

Grade 6 and Grade 7 students read French poems to celebrate the first day of Spring: “Une histoire à suivre” by Claude Roy deals with the changes of nature focusing on the metamorphosis of trees and weather. “Liberté” by Maurice Careme describes freedom, discovering the world and wishing that this new period of the year will make your dreams come true. “Mars” is a poem in which every single element of nature is a protagonist of the awakening of the senses. Finally, the poems “Bonjour” by Paul Geraldy and “Au Printemps” by Théophile Gautier are a description of nature and beauty, a welcoming of the new season. By just spending a few minutes reading a poem, new worlds can be revealed!
